Using Mockups Instead of Photos

This is not a photo!

As a greeting card designer, I absolutely love spending my time designing cards. While photographing them can be fun, it's also a time-consuming process that requires a lot of equipment and software. Setting up a mini photo studio can be really challenging for some designers who don't have the space or resources.

To overcome this issue, I started building Photoshop mockups to showcase my products. This idea came to me as a way to avoid the time-consuming process of setting up and editing photos every time I wanted to post product photos on Instagram. The mockups not only saved me time, but also gave me a wider range of possibilities in terms of backgrounds and lighting. I found I was able to showcase my cards in a more creative and personalized way that truly reflected my vision.

After

Building Photoshop mockups has not only saved me time and energy but also allowed me to showcase my products in a more creative and personalized way. It has become an integral part of my design process, and I'm thrilled to share it with others in the design community. I hope that by making my mockups available for purchase, I can help other designers who were facing similar challenges.

In today's highly competitive market, it is more important than ever to find ways to distinguish yourself from the competition. Mockups provide a great way to showcase your products and market them at the same time, without requiring a camera, tripod, or Lightroom.

Here’s how it works:

  • Add your own image or text to create custom greeting cards. Just drag and drop, then resize or rotate as needed!

  • Change the background color of the mockup by double-clicking on the "Background Color" layer swatch thumbnails in the Layers panel

  • A paper texture layer is included to make the paper feel more tangible

  • The realistic shadows are removable and editable

  • Well-organized layers with smart objects for quick and easy editing

  • File only works in Adobe Photoshop (includes one .psd file)

This is what it looks like when you open the Photoshop file

I am thrilled to present these mockups to you. I believe that they can be of great help to you in your job. A lot of effort and attention to detail went into creating them, so I hope that they will not only make your work more efficient but also inspire you to explore new ideas and strategies. By using these mockups, you can streamline your workflow and gain precious time for other important tasks.

So there you have it, a premium greeting card mockup from paper&stuff, available for purchase on Creative Market. If you end up using it, let me know! I'd love to see what you come up with. And reach if you have any issues working with the mockup. I'd love to continue to iterate on these to make them better!
